NY-BR-1 gene encodes a 150-160 kDa protein containing nuclear localization and bZIP motif, which is a transcription factor and overexpressed in breast cancer. It is restricted to normal breast epithelium and to tumors thereof, confirming its true nature as a differentiation antigen of the mammary gland. NY-BR-1 was significantly associated with the differentiation grade, lymph node status, estrogen receptor expression, and Her2-neu gene amplification.
IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded human breast. Anti-NY-BR-1 antibody was used at 1/250 dilution, followed by a HRP Polymer for Mouse & Rabbit IgG (ready to use). Counterstained with hematoxylin. Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris/EDTA buffer pH9.0 was performed before commencing with IHC staining protocol.
