The FUNDC1 protein, also known as FUN14 domain containing 1, is a mitochondrial protein that plays a critical role in mitochondrial dynamics and cellular respiration. FUNDC1 is highly expressed in tissues such as the brain and blood, and it is enriched in immune cells like monocytes and neutrophils.
