Phospho-CaMKII (Thr286) refers to the phosphorylated form of the Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII) at threonine residue 286. CaMKII is a multifunctional serine/threonine protein kinase that plays a crucial role in various cellular processes, particularly in the heart and brain. When phosphorylated at Thr286, CaMKII undergoes autophosphorylation, which enhances its activity and allows it to function in a Ca2+-independent manner.
