c-Kit (CD117) is a receptor tyrosine kinase encoded by the c-kit gene. It plays a crucial role in the development and function of various cell types including hematopoietic cells, melanocytes, and gastrointestinal interstitial cells. The ligand for c-Kit is stem cell factor (SCF), and the binding of SCF to c-Kit activates intracellular signaling pathways that promote cell proliferation, survival, differentiation, and migration. Mutations or overexpression of c-Kit are associated with several diseases such as gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) and certain types of leukemia, making it an important target for therapeutic interventions.
Flow cytometric analysis of BALB/c mouse bone marrow labelling Mouse c-Kit antibody at 1/500 (1 μg) dilution/ (right panel) compared with a Rat IgG2b, κ Isotype Control / (left panel). Goat Anti-Rat IgG Alexa Fluor® 647 was used as the secondary antibody. Then cells were stained with CD34 - FITC antibody separately.
