Diacylglycerol kinase alpha (DGKA) is an enzyme encoded by the DGKA gene in humans and belongs to the eukaryotic diacylglycerol kinase family. It is involved in intracellular signaling pathways, acting as a modulator that competes with protein kinase C for the second messenger diacylglycerol. DGKA also plays a crucial role in the resynthesis of phosphatidylinositols and the phosphorylation of diacylglycerol to phosphatidic acid. Additionally, DGKA has been identified as a potential candidate in radiation-induced fibrosis, where its expression can be induced by the transcription factor EGR1, leading to enhanced production of pro-fibrotic ECM proteins such as collagen and fibronectin.

ICC shows positive staining in Jurkat cells. Anti- DGKA antibody was used at 1/100 dilution (Green) and incubated overnight at 4°C. Goat polyclonal Antibody to Rabbit IgG - H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) was used as secondary antibody at 1/1000 dilution. The cells were fixed with 4% PFA and permeabilized with 0.1% PBS-Triton X-100. Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (Blue). Counterstain with tubulin (Red).
