CD185, also known as CXCR5 or Burkitt lymphoma receptor 1 (BLR1), is a G protein-coupled receptor with seven transmembrane regions. It belongs to the CXC chemokine receptor family and specifically binds to the chemokine CXCL13. This protein is crucial for the migration of B cells into B cell follicles in the spleen and Peyer's patches, and it is also essential for the function of follicular helper T cells. CD185 is expressed in mature B cells, follicular helper T cells, and certain types of lymphoma, including Burkitt's lymphoma. Additionally, it may play a role in maintaining cardiac structure under pressure overload and in the formation of ectopic mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue during chronic inflammation.
Flow cytometric analysis of Mouse CD185 expression on C57BL/6 mouse splenocytes. C57BL/6 mouse splenocytes were stained with Brilliant Violet 421™ Rat Anti-Mouse CD19 Antibody and either Alexa Fluor® 647 Rat IgG2b, κ Isotype Control (Left panel) or SDT Alexa Fluor® 647 Rat Anti-Mouse CD185 Antibody (Right panel) at 5 μl/test. Flow cytometry and data analysis were performed using BD FACSymphony™ A1 and FlowJo™ software.
