CD2, also known as the T-cell rosette receptor or LFA-2, is a type I membrane protein predominantly expressed on thymocytes and mature T cells. It functions as an adhesion molecule that binds to CD58 (LFA-3) on antigen-presenting cells (APCs), facilitating T-cell receptor (TCR) binding and signal transduction, which is crucial for T-cell activation and immune responses.
Flow cytometric analysis of BALB/c mouse splenocytes labelling Mouse CD2 antibody at 1/200 dilution (1 μg) / (Red) compared with a Rat IgG2b, κ Isotype Isotype control (Black) and an unlabelled control (cells without incubation with primary antibody and secondary antibody) (Blue). Goat Anti - Rat IgG Alexa Fluor® 488 was used as the secondary antibody.
