CD140a, also known as Platelet-Derived Growth Factor Receptor Alpha (PDGFRα), is a cell surface receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a crucial role in various biological processes. It is a member of the receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) III class and is widely expressed in cells of mesenchymal origin, including fibroblasts, endothelial cells, glial cells, and certain tumor cells. CD140a binds to various isoforms of platelet-derived growth factors (PDGFs) such as PDGF-AA, PDGF-AB, and PDGF-BB, forming homodimers or heterodimers with CD140b (PDGFRβ) to mediate cellular responses. This receptor is involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, and survival, and is essential for embryonic development, wound healing, and the regulation of platelet activation.
Flow cytometric analysis of NIH/3T3 (Mouse embryonic fibroblast) labelling Mouse CD140a antibody at 1/2000 dilution (0.1 μg) / (Red) compared with a Rat IgG2a, κ (Black) Isotype control and an unlabelled control (cells without incubation with primary antibody and secondary antibody) (Blue). Goat Anti - Rat IgG Alexa Fluor® 647 was used as the secondary antibody.
