Triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 (TREM2) is a glycosylated transmembrane receptor belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, predominantly expressed on myeloid cells such as microglia in the central nervous system, osteoclasts, and certain macrophage subsets.
