Fibroblast Growth Factor-Acidic (FGF-Acidic), also known as FGF-1, is a member of the fibroblast growth factor family that plays a crucial role in various cellular processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and angiogenesis. FGF-Acidic is a potent mitogen that stimulates the growth and survival of a wide range of cell types, including fibroblasts, endothelial cells, and smooth muscle cells. It is involved in tissue repair, wound healing, and embryonic development.
Bovine FGF-Acidic refers to the version of this growth factor derived from bovine (cow) sources. Bovine FGF-Acidic shares high sequence homology (92%) with human FGF-Acidic and exhibits similar biological activities.
Measured in a cell proliferation assay using Balb/c 3T3 mouse fibroblast cells. The EC50 for this effect is less than 1ng/ml.
