Placental S100 (S100P antibody),95 amino acid calcium-binding protein. It's a member of the S100 family, regulates various cellular processes such as cell growth and motility, cell cycle progression, transcription and differentiation. After transcriptional activation, the expression of S100P is increased in a variety of tumor cells including pancreatic, lung, breast, and ovarian cancers. Recent studies have shown that S100P can be used to diagnose pancreatic cancer and distinguish urothelial carcinoma from prostate cancer.
IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded human pancreas cancer.
Anti-S100P antibody was used at 1/2000 dilution, followed by a Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (HRP) ready to use.
Counterstained with hematoxylin.
Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris/EDTA buffer pH9.0 was performed before commencing with IHC staining protocol.
