CD7 (Cluster of Differentiation 7) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CD7 gene. This gene encodes a transmembrane protein which is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. This protein is found on thymocytes and mature T cells. It plays an essential role in T-cell interactions and also in T-cell/B-cell interaction during early lymphoid development.
Flow cytometric analysis of human PBMC (human peripheral blood mononuclear cell) labelling CD7 antibody at 1/2000 (0.1 μg) dilution (Right) compared with a Mouse monoclonal IgG isotype control (Left). Goat Anti - Mouse IgG Alexa Fluor® 488 was used as the secondary antibody. Then cells were stained with CD3 - Alexa Fluor® 647 separately.
ICC shows positive staining in Jurkat cells. Anti-CD7 antibody was used at 1/500 dilution (Green) and incubated overnight at 4°C. Goat polyclonal Antibody to Mouse IgG - H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) was used as secondary antibody at 1/1000 dilution. The cells were fixed with 100% ice-cold methanol and permeabilized with 0.1% PBS-Triton X-100. Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (Blue).
Negative control: ICC shows negative staining in Raji cells. Anti-CD7 antibody was used at 1/500 dilution and incubated overnight at 4°C.
